Attorney Fees

Most cases must be evaluated prior to quoting a fee; however, some of the attorney fees may be determined for certain cases depending on the circumstances.  When a flat fee is used, the only other money required from the client is a filing fee, which is set by the court and paid directly to the court, as well as any court reporter fees, paid directly to that court reporter.  For a list of some of the set fees, see the chart below.  All other fees not listed will be explained to you at the first free initial consultation as they depend on the complexity and nature of each individual case.

ALABAMA DIVORCE

One of the most common questions we hear is "How much does it cost to get a divorce in Alabama?". We realize how expensive hiring an attorney can be, especially when dealing with something like divorce; therefore, we make it easier on our clients by taking the guess work out of most legal fees. Our fees for an uncontested divorce in Alabama as well as the retainer fees for an Alabama contested divorce are listed below.  Naturally, there is more involved with a contested divorce such as extensive discovery, through questioning and depositions, in pursuit of a settlement as well as the possibility of going to trial.  As such, the fees for an Alabama Contested Divorce are higher than those of an Alabama Uncontested Divorce. Regardless, we at The Rose Law Firm want you to know up front what to expect from such an emotional case.  For further information, SEE CHART BELOW

 ALABAMA CHILD CUSTODY

Alabama Child Custody cases are some of the most complex cases and should only be handled by an attorney experienced in this field.  At The Rose Law Firm we have the experience you need on your side.  Rarely, are child custody cases settled out of court due to their very nature.  Most must be fought in trial.  Due to the complexity of the case, I choose to charge flat fees.  This way the client knows what to expect up front. At the first free initial consultation, Mrs. Rose will evaluate your particular case and set out for you in writing any and all fees that will be required for your situation.  You will know prior to beginning your case the maximum amount that you will be charged.  Call or email me today to set up your free consultation and let us fight for you today.

ALABAMA ADOPTION

For Alabama Adoption cases, we charge a flat fee.  Due to the nature of these cases and experience in Alabama Adoption cases, I am able to set out for the client how much will be required for this type of case.  This keeps things simple for the client during this joyous time as they know up front what they will be charged.  Our flat fees for adoption starts at $950 per child.  Call or email us today for your free consultation and let us begin your Alabama adoption today!  SEE CHART BELOW

ALABAMA CHILD SUPPORT MODIFICATION
If you are owed child support and haven't been paid, you may be owed more than you think.  In Alabama, arrearage is 12% per year; however, this does not mean a flat 12% on top of what is owed.  It is calculated and added each month.  If you are owed child support, call us today.  We can help determine how much money you are owed and begin the fight to get that money to you.  Whether you simply need an Alabama Child Support Modification or an Alabama Child Support Contempt proceeding.  Call or email us today and let us begin fighting for you.  SEE CHART BELOW
ALABAMA ANNULMENT

Getting an Alabama Annulment is much more complex than obtaining a divorce.  Unless specific requirements are met, the annulment will not be granted.  Annulments typically are more expensive than a divorce due to the fact that most must be litigated in front of a Judge in order for the annulment to be granted.  Flat fees are charged in annulment cases as well and depend on the complexity of your case.  SEE CHART BELOW

OTHER CASES
For the majority of other work we must evaluate the time and complexity involved to determine the fair pricing for your individual needs. FEE CHART
Below, we have set out the prices for some of our flat fee service as well as per hour legal pricing for other legal services through our firm.

You will be responsible for the following fees depending on your type of case:

Filing Fees:  vary from $154.00 to $320.00, depending on your county of filing and the type of case.

Attorney Hourly Rate:  $175/hr

Retainer Fee:  Nearly all attorneys require a retainer fee, this fee is an amount paid prior to working on your case.  When your case is worked on, time is recorded, and the amount worked is deducted from this fee.  If the amount of time on your particular case exceeds the retainer fee amount, you will be charged at the hourly rate.  This fee is an up-front payment that entitles you to a certain number of work hours, based on the hourly rate listed above.  This fee varies from case to case depending on circumstances, and is based on an estimated minimum number of hours required. If work done on your case exceeds this estimated minimum, you will be responsible for paying for any excess hours at the stated hourly rate.

Flat Fees:  For a lot of our cases, we choose to charge flat fees.  This keeps things simpler for both of us and allows you, the paying client,  to know upfront how much your case will cost, meaning you will not be surprised with a huge bill at the end of your case.  All flat fees are strictly for attorney time.  The only additional fees that have to be paid are any filing fees, paid directly to the court, as well as any court reporter fees, paid directly to the court reporter.
